Rules of conduct

The 3 Tenets

1

Strive to do no harm.

If you do harm, attempt to correct it.

2

Strive to prevent harm.

If you cannot prevent it, attempt to reduce it.

3

Strive to improve upon the collective experience.

If you cannot improve it, do not worsen it.

Universal Law

Wish for your neighbor that which you wish for yourself.

Reciprocity

What you expect to receive, you must first give.

Inclusion

Any person dedicated to not causing harm should be welcomed into community regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, color, religion, age, socioeconomic status, employment, national origin, language, appearance, caste, or class.

Trinary

The world exists as a trinary. Temperature is not only Hot or Cold; it is also Warm. So it is with all things. We need not exist as Us or Them. We can be Together.

Birthrights

The earth has freely given all we need for survival.

The gifts that all beings earn by right of birth are:

The right to clean air

The right to clean water

The right to sustenance

The right to shelter

The right to sanitary waste disposal

The right to community care

Autonomy

Every individual has ownership of their own person and right to self determination, assuming those choices cause no harm.

Accountability

One must take responsibility for one’s own choices regardless of the influence that inspired them.

Motivation

The motivating forces driving human behavior are of Creation and Destruction. Both are necessary for progress, but discernment should be used in their application.

Equity

All people have a right to seek happiness and security so long as their pursuit causes no harm. As a collective we hold a responsibility to ensure happiness and security is attainable for all.

Family

Those who stand by you in loyalty and love are your family, regardless of ancestry.

Gossip

Do not repeat gossip. If another person is causing no harm, one should mind their own concerns.

Fear

Fear is the ultimate adversary. Conquering fear while causing no harm is the ultimate victory.

Heroism

Do not wait for a hero. Within one’s ability, be the hero.

The Mirror Mistake

Do not assume that other’s lives mirror your own. Different people live different experiences that influence their choices, behaviors, and capabilities.

Justice

Injustice is harm. Silently accepting an injustice done unto others implies consent for that injustice to be done to yourself. Enjoyment of an injustice gives consent for that injustice to be done to you.

Violence

Violence is transactional. One should never initiate violence. Violence as defense is impossible to universally condemn.

Seek Truth

Combat the spread of false information by asking of yourself and others-

Why do you believe the information?

Where did the information come from?

Who will benefit if you believe the information?

How are your feelings about the information affecting your belief?

and most importantly-

What if you are wrong?

Facts Over Feelings

Choose facts over feelings, regardless of the strength of the feeling or the fear of the fact.

Be Wrong

Admitting that you are wrong is an act of courage, not a weakness.

Grow

Cultivate curiosity, not fear. Adjust your beliefs when presented with new facts.

Reality

Reality is a series of struggles. The less struggles a person has the more they risk losing touch with reality.

Privilege

One is privileged when they have less of an obstacle to a specific struggle. Every person has privilege over someone.

Technology

Technology that is not known to be an enhancement to oneself or the collective needs to be eliminated from one’s life.

Human Rights

The United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child are touchstones for the rights to be accorded to all.

Wardian Rituals

One must care for oneself when caring for others. We do so through Appreciation, Creation, and Reflection.

Wardian Holidays

Any day that holds special meaning to the observer should be celebrated. Whenever people join together in celebration it is a holiday. Repeating that celebration over time makes it a tradition.

Afterlife

Death is a natural process and the final step in one’s life. It is not to be feared but accepted.

The Future

The future belongs to the children.  As a collective we have the responsibility to give them their future as a gift and not a burden.
